About These Free HSK 4 Practice Tests
These HSK 4 mock exams are designed to simulate the real Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (汉语水平考试) Level 4 examination. Each test contains 100 questions across three sections: Listening (听力), Reading (阅读), and Writing (书写). The listening section includes true/false judgments and multiple-choice questions with audio. The reading section covers fill-in-the-blank vocabulary, sentence ordering, and reading comprehension passages. All questions include answer keys so you can check your work immediately.
HSK Level 4 is an intermediate Chinese proficiency test. Passing HSK 4 certifies that you can discuss a wide range of topics in Chinese, communicate comfortably with native speakers, and understand approximately 1,200 vocabulary words. HSK 4 Exam Format / HSK 四级考试结构
The official HSK 4 exam consists of three parts: Listening (听力) with 45 questions in about 30 minutes, Reading (阅读) with 40 questions in 40 minutes, and Writing (书写) with 15 questions in 25 minutes. The total exam duration is approximately 105 minutes. A score of 180 out of 300 (60%) is required to pass.
