HSK 4 True/False / 判断对错
Catch the keyword shift in 8 seconds — the highest-yield 10 marks of HSK 4
HSK 4 listening Part 1 plays a short statement followed by a written sentence. You judge whether the written sentence matches the meaning of what you heard. With only one play and 8 seconds per question, this is the section where good strategy gives you 7-8 of the 10 available marks.
5 Strategies for HSK 4 Judgement (T/F) / 5 个应试策略
Pre-read the written sentence in 5 seconds
Before each audio plays, scan the printed sentence and underline the key noun + verb + any number/time/negation. The audio is short — you must know what to listen FOR, not just listen.
Watch for the 3 classic HSK 4 traps
(1) Negation flip: 不/没/没有 in audio that's missing in the printed line. (2) Subject swap: audio says '哥哥' but printed says '弟弟'. (3) Time shift: audio says 上周 but printed says 下周.
If you hear a synonym, the answer is usually 对
Statements that match through synonyms are common. 漂亮↔好看, 高兴↔开心, 难过↔伤心, 经常↔常常, 立刻↔马上 all signal 对. Don't insist on exact word match.
Mood/attitude words decide many T/F items
Listen for 喜欢 vs 讨厌, 同意 vs 反对, 满意 vs 失望, 习惯 vs 不适应. The printed sentence often paraphrases the speaker's attitude, and a single mood word flip = 错.
Don't think — guess and move on after 8 seconds
If you missed the audio, mark a guess (statistically 对 ≈ 53% in HSK 4 Part 1) and move on. Lingering loses you the next question too. Listening Part 1 is a ladder — never skip a rung.
⚠ Common HSK 4 Mistakes to Avoid / 常见错误
- Reading the printed sentence AFTER the audio plays — you'll only catch half the meaning.
- Translating the audio mentally to your native language — you lose 2 seconds and miss the next word.
- Marking 错 only when something feels 'off' — many 错 items have only one word swapped (a number, a name, a tense).
